Enabling Authentication and Access Control-Based Data Sharing in Salesforce

About The Client

A leading global alternative asset manager specializing in originating and providing financing solutions to facilitate the growth, refinancing, and recapitalization of small and medium enterprises.

Client's Challenges

  • Wanted to develop functionality in which all the records that are present in the Salesforce Org will be hidden. Only the record owner will be able to see/edit/delete the records.
  • To make the records visible (read-only) to the users that fall in the higher hierarchy only.

Hexaview's Solution

  • Made the object private in the OWD (Organization Wide Default) rules and enabled the hierarchy for it.
  • We created sharing rules, a checkbox named "General Pool". If the record owner selects it, then the records will be shared with all the users in the Salesforce org.

Impact

  • Higher data security & authentication was achieved.
  • Enabled users to select the General Pool checkbox to share the records with other users.
  • Our solution helped the client by overcoming the complexities and challenges that they were facing earlier and made the overall workflow.

Key Success Factors

  • Followed the industry's best standard data security and authentication practices.
  • Hexaview has been serving the FinTech industry for over a decade.
